Type in Amharic and other local languages

Amharic keyboard FynGeez - Eth is a free keyboard app that supports multiple languages, including English and Amharic.  However — unlike Hamro Nepali Keyboard — it doesn’t come with a transliteration chart. Hence, this tool is only for native speakers, or those who have a working knowledge of the Amharic script.

You can also customize your keyboard by adding an image or selecting from a plethora of pre-set themes. Unfortunately, the emoji button placement is unintuitive in addition to the poor layout of the emoji menu. Despite all the aforementioned flaws, Amharic keyboard FynGeez - Eth is definitely worth installing.

Inject personality into your keyboard

Ethiopia — a country in East Africa — is home to many languages, with Amharic being its official and predominantly used language. Whether you’re working in Ethiopia or an Ethiopian citizen looking for a reliable touchscreen keyboard, you can start off with Amharic keyboard FynGeez - Eth. Apart from said language and English, it also supports Afaan Oromoo and Tigrigna — which are also spoken in the country.

Like other keyboard apps, you can switch between the aforementioned languages and use the predictive text function for faster typing. It also allows keyboard customization. With this feature, you can apply a wallpaper or select a background and button color, as well as adjust button transparency. The app also offers plenty of themed keyboard backgrounds, such as “Barcelona,” “bordered - blue & red,” “RAIN DROPS II,” and many more.

You can change the font type, too, though there’s not much to choose from in the dropdown. The app has a plethora of emojis and emoji art, as well. Not only will these elements help you convey a certain tone, they also humanize digital communication. Unfortunately, you can’t create your own emoji art, and some emojis appear as boxes with crosses in them.

Worth recommending

In conclusion, Amharic keyboard FynGeez - Eth supports not only English but also some of Ethiopia’s native languages such as Afaan Oromoo and Tigrigna. Thanks to its customization features, you can personalize your touchscreen keyboard according to your preferences. As it doesn’t include a transliteration chart, this app is best used by native speakers or users who are acquainted with any of the aforementioned languages.
